Title sequence for "The Widowmaker" documentary, 2014.
Oxford Films required a title sequence to set the mood for their hard-hitting feature documentary which traces the questionable precedent upon which today's approach to the treatment of heart disease is built. Jellyfish's Tom Brass and I arrived at a concept that combined two threads that the client was keen to emphasise: blood and money.
It's a piece particularly close to my own heart. I saw the process through from storyboard to completion as the sole artist on the project, taking care of all design, modelling (except for pillbox element), animation and final compositing. I wanted the 3D models to look as real as I knew how, and given that it was my first predominantly 3D project, I'm still very pleased with the results.
