This instalment of the Star Trek story finds the the titular figure, Jean-Luc Picard in his autumnal years. Retired, and with time on his hands to reflect upon his life, his days are haunted by loss and past mistakes.

A slightly sober and introspective tone seemed fitting for this sequence, and a colour scheme which evokes the dying day tinges the frames with a faint sorrow and nostalgia. The sequence was intended to play like a collection of fragmented memories; at once indistinct, poignant and somewhat dreamlike.
